Village Theatre was created by educators who believe theatre gives children something powerful: a place to belong, take risks, use their voice, work with others, and experience the joy of bringing a story to life.
Our programs combine the structure schools need with the creativity students deserve. Whether students are performing an existing play, rehearsing an original script, or helping create a new performance, Village Theatre helps young performers build confidence, collaboration, communication skills, and imagination.
Molly Chapman is an educator, theatre artist, and theatre teacher with experience teaching students from elementary school through college. She has taught Theatre at Indiana University, Ball State University, Austin Community College, and Georgetown High School. She also ran a summer camp for 5 to 8 year olds through Bloomington Playwrights Project in Bloomington, Indiana.
Molly earned an MFA in Acting from Indiana University and a BA in Theatre from Bloomsburg University. She is a SITI Company alum and a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
Before becoming a 3rd Grade teacher, Molly worked as a regional theatre actor with companies around the country, including Williamstown Theatre Festival, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, Passage Theatre Company, and Indiana Festival Theatre.
Molly’s love of theatre began when she saw a high school production of West Side Story. She was hooked. Theatre gave her confidence that reached into every part of her life, which is why she is passionate about introducing children to theatre during their primary years. She believes theatre teaches collaboration, public speaking, empathy, and the powerful lesson that everyone belongs.

Village Theatre grew from years of school-based theatre work and a shared belief that children deserve meaningful opportunities to perform, create, and belong.
At Meridian World School, our theatre work became known as The Lion’s Acting Troupe, a name chosen by the students and school community. Through that program, students have performed existing plays, original scripts, and ensemble-based theatre experiences that brought families and the school community together.
Village Theatre was created to bring that same joyful, structured, student-centered theatre experience to more schools and communities.
Whether your school is looking for an after-school theatre program, a summer camp, or a custom performance experience, we would love to talk about what could work for your students.
